Some argue that this is the normal behavior of a democratic politician and that democracy is the opinion of the majority. Others cross that G. Nausėda shows that he is a vacillating politician and tends to cover himself with an inert majority and accept it, therefore, not even a leader and not a politician in general.

From Valinsk: extremely harsh criticism

Former Seimas spokesman Arūnas Valinskas did not spare the president’s criticism on the program “Essentially” and even considers that in this case “no president is better than that.”

“It just came to our attention then. Let’s remember very clearly what Ms. Maldeikienė said before the presidential elections, and now the President is only proving that there is still zero. I would say a little differently: it is like the suspension of a good suit After all, the leader has to go and show the way, and the suspension commissions inspect to find out which way the wind is blowing and which way to lean.

The scariest thing here is that the person who has to be a leader to take the initiative only cares about how beautiful it looks, how beautiful looking at. Imagine that the State needs to make decisions, and we are attacking to ask, for example, if the masks have already been removed or if it is mandatory to increase wages.

Everyone will vote for. Then the president will have to present such a poll to the Seimas, saying that here are the demands of the people. Increase? And you know, those things are a basic misunderstanding of the president. Almost two years have passed since he held this position. And you don’t really understand what you are doing now, what you need to do. Just sorry <…>. It is better for no president in this case than to commission elections. Here is a circus without money ”, says A. Valinskas.

Assure that this is the last quarter of Nausėda

When asked if perhaps the president is asking those questions that cause the biggest scandal, A. Valinskas says that if he had to gamble, he does not even doubt that this term of G. Nausėda as president is the first and the last.

“It just came to my knowledge then. Lithuania lived with the same presidents or members of the Seimas, but when the president took an oath and promised to be equal to all … Obviously he broke that oath when he sided with the priest Toliatas and It turned out to be more egalitarian than others. You see, it’s just a symbolic action, but it broke that oath morally because it softened. The leader shouldn’t be afraid to move on, and now he’s asking the nation, so where are we going? ? The leader must show the way, make decisions, not sit back and wait.

I remember one thing very well: let’s go back to the president’s inauguration. One of his former colleagues at the bank said in a personal conversation as a secret: “Thank God we got rid of that.” You know, when you want to be tall and handsome, it doesn’t shine for you until leadership, and you do what you want. I can bet what I want, this is his first, only and last term. We were happy and it will be enough, ”said A. Valinskas.

Matas Maldeikis, a member of the Union of the Homeland faction of the Seimas and the Lithuanian Christian Democrats, also assured in the program that the president simply does not demonstrate the qualities of a leader.

Maldeikis.

According to him, it is possible that G. Nausėda simply did not have much idea of ​​what it means to become president.

“The second aspect that I see is the lack of political arguments. I could not say a single clear position from the President on any of the human rights issues at this time, and it should be understood that the issues we are talking about are pan-European.

In the European Union we already have a well-established field of certain issues, and those issues are accepted by all political parties, be they the European People’s Party or the Socialists, Liberals and Greens, they agree on those common points, other aspects of the same Istanbul Convention, and as a result there is not much controversy, and we just want to level up because we don’t want to answer for ourselves.

I guess he had a different view of the presidency itself, he thought it was more blue lights, the universal love of the people, and the cutting of ribbons, but he was suddenly faced with tough political decisions, especially political choices of that value, and all. The image he has for those three years is an enigma, whether to stand for election and run for a second term, and what will happen if he participates and loses. According to M. Maldeikis, the president is trying to maneuver and please everyone.

A great example is the Istanbul Convention in the sense that everyone forgets that the President presents the Convention to the Seimas.
