V. Uspaskich assures that the Labor Party will work in the opposition: the conservatives will not need our help

“The chances of the Labor Party to participate in any office today are highly questionable due to the current political situation,” the party leader told reporters on Friday.

He claimed that the posts were of no interest to the Labor Party and the party tended to remain in opposition.

“We already have a lot of experience, if you do not control the situation, it is not worth participating there and giving those people ministerial posts at the expense of the party, they win there and escape,” said the politician.

According to him, the center-right coalition will gather the majority without the Labor Party.

“Immediately after the elections, I said that they would not need any help, that they would easily form a ruling majority of three parties,” he said.

When asked if he would form a coalition with the “peasants,” he said it would depend on how much they were willing to support the Labor Party program. However, V. Uspaskich declared that he doubted the possibility of reaching an agreement with the “peasants” or the Social Democrats.

“We will support the necessary laws that will benefit Lithuania,” he added.

At the same time, however, he criticized the budget prepared by the current rulers: the party could not support it because, according to V. Uspaskich, Lithuania is not thought of as a state that could be independent and prosperous in the future.

“No, no, not with any of the party leaders that passed 5 percent. I have not spoken with the barrier, “he said.

In the first round of the elections, the Labor Party won 9 seats.
