In the current Seimas, the LLRA-KŠS has an eight-member faction: five parliamentarians are elected from the list, three – in single-member districts. In the Nemenčinė constituency, Rita Tamašunienė was elected to the Seimas in the second round, and she is still a candidate there, and in the first even two representatives of this party: Leonardas Talmontas in the Šalčininkai-Vilnius constituency and Česlavas Olševskis Medininkai.
The latter and awaits victory in these elections right there. And L. Talmontas gave his place in the single-member electoral district to Beata Petkevič, deputy mayor of the Šalčininkai district municipality, who does not participate in the elections at all.
Zbignev Jedinski became the leader of the LLRA-KŠS list in a somewhat unexpected way, repeatedly famous for his statements on the democratic processes in Ukraine and Belarus.
Parties, some movements and things like that. But that doesn’t bother us too much, because we have a loyal voter in the first place.
Welcome loyalty
This party received an extremely aggressive campaign against it in the 2020 Seimas elections. However, its leader Valdemar Tomaševskis is convinced that they will be able to keep the faction in the Seimas, and there are always opponents: “Parties, some movements and things for the style. But that doesn’t bother us too much, because we have a loyal voter in the first place. Second, we have a lot of work to do, especially in the last legislatures of the Seimas. Sometimes we ask a lot when our social projects are implemented, such as free medicines for the elderly, family card, differentiated taxes.
After the first vote, the thirteenth pension was approved. We are ready to continue with these projects and make decisions ”.

The first results did not show that LLRA-KŠS exceeded 5%. However, V. Tomaševskis did not lose his good humor as a result: “There are only part of the neighborhoods here, Vilnius was not there, so I think everything will be fine. The fact that it exceeds 4% shows that we have as many voters as usual. Sometimes there are a little less than absolute numbers because the activity is different. But voters have also fallen, as the news reports.
Strong in Vilnius, but careful
V. Tomaševskis was cautious about the fact that voters were more active in these Seimas elections in big cities than in rural areas.
“We always have a strong position in Vilnius, but we do not know who was most active here, it may not have been our voter, it is difficult to answer. And in rural areas, the voter is now changing, new people are coming to Vilnius, Vilnius county. It can already be said that one third of Lithuania lives in Vilnius County. We can’t draw any conclusions here, but where there is no permanent voter, there is no big change, we sure win, we get 60, 70 percent. votes, in some districts up to 80 percent, ”said V. Tomaševskis.

According to the LLRA-KŠS leader, they appreciate the work with the “peasants”, so they would see opportunities to continue it. However, as if the government is not persecuting, being in the ruling majority is just a tool for them, because the party is not afraid to work in the opposition as well.

“It is not important for us to have positions, but it is important to do something,” said V. Tomaševskis, without hiding that he hopes to maintain the group of eight MPs. It is alleged that several parliamentarians will be elected in the first round.
According to data from the Central Electoral Commission, voter turnout in the first round of the Seimas elections reached 47.6 percent. – three percentage points less than four years ago.
