“No one can tell me that if they had protested there yesterday [judėjimo] “The Black Lives Matter (BLM) group … would not be treated completely differently from the mob that stormed the Capitol,” Biden said in Wilmington, Delaware.
“We all know it is true and it is unacceptable,” said the Democrat, who will take office on January 20 in place of Trump.

Strong support from black voters contributed significantly to Biden’s victory in the November election.
On Wednesday, a crowd of angry protesters, sparked by the speech of outgoing President D. Trump, broke through the metal barriers surrounding the Capitol and flocked to the compound. These unpublished scenes were broadcast live on television.
However, the police officers responsible for protecting the Capitol delayed the use of tear gas. When police tried unsuccessfully to blockade the building, rioters broke into the cabinets and lawmakers had to hide under chairs and don gas masks.
The American media reported that some law enforcement officials even opened the door to rioters.
These scenes were in stark contrast to anti-racist protests in the capital and other parts of the country last year, during which police used force to disperse protesters. The National Guard was periodically deployed for preventive reasons.

The National Guard reinforcement came only after a few hours of unprecedented chaos and violence Wednesday, although Trump supporters had already announced plans to meet a few days ago.
Many Americans, along with anti-racism activists after the Capitol siege, have accused officials of applying “double standards.”
“We’ve been fighting for people like George Floyd and Breonna Taylor all last summer, and they greeted us with rubber bullets,” Patrisse Cullors, one of BLM’s co-founders, told CNN.
He praised Biden for acknowledging the unequal treatment of anti-racist protesters and Trumpet supporters by police, as well as for speaking out about this inequality not only for the country but also on the international stage.

Former first lady Michelle Obama also voiced her outrage Thursday, saying Trump supporters would likely have received a different response if they were black.
“The BLM protests last summer were primarily a peaceful movement … And yet, city after city, day after day, we saw the use of brute force against peaceful protesters,” he wrote on Facebook.
At the time, the people who “desecrated the center of the US government this week were escorted out of the building without handcuffs,” but were able to live their lives, he wrote.
