A 57-year-old man with COVID-19 in Pociūnėliai (Radviliškis district) shook hands with the restrictions placed on him. The patient, who had to isolate himself at home, not only walked around the town, went to the store to buy, but also organized drinks at home, to which he invited his acquaintances.

COVID-19 for this Pociūnėliai resident settled in late May. Because the man became ill with a mild form of the disease, he was prescribed home treatment. The patient was given self-isolation and was also warned of the risk of violating the self-isolation regimen.

The man shook his hand upon hearing this. He went shopping at the store.

News of a man with COVID-19 soon spread in Pociūnėliai.

Therefore, when a neighbor of this town saw a patient in the store, he asked him what the man with coronavirus was doing here. To this, the patient replied that he had found out about the infection only a few hours ago, so he went to the store to buy food.

An observant citizen informed senior staff about a man with COVID-19 who left the store, and the latter contacted the police.

Officials sent to verify the report found a violator of the self-isolation regime in his home, but not alone, but drunk with the company.

As a man with COVID-19 was at risk of serious illness and other people involved in drinking, a pre-trial investigation was launched against him for violating anti-epidemic rules.

Such a crime is even threatened with jail.

If a person, informed by a medical institution of their disease and warned about the protection measures they must take in contact with humans, has endangered other people with a serious or particularly serious communicable disease, they may be punished with a fine, deprivation of freedom, arrest or imprisonment of up to five years.

Friends who drank with a man with COVID-19 were also given self-isolation.

If the latter do not comply with their self-isolation regime, they will incur administrative responsibility.

Violation of the self-isolation rules would result in a warning or a fine of € 60 to € 1,500.
