This morning, the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, together with his team of advisers, began a working visit to Tauragė.

Some grabbed the phones and hoped to be immortalized with the president, others only found out about the visit from the head of state when they came to wait for the bus.
When the president’s cortege stopped before the waiting district mayors, the head of the country, at the direct request of the first lady, approached the circle of Tauragiškės.
“Forty years ago, I was also waiting for a bus at Tauragė station and driving to the village,” the guest told the people of Tauragė.
The head of state gave a friendly hug to his family members who were waiting for him and assured him that it was extremely fun to see so many smiling faces.
“I would like to speak more, but I have to go to greet the mayors,” said goodbye to the fans the country’s head.
At the Tauragė bus station, the mayors of the districts of Tauragė, Jurbarkas, Šilalė and the municipality of Pagėgiai were waiting for the president, who signed a regional agreement on the consolidation of the public transport organization. Municipalities are committed to sustainable mobility throughout the region, improving access to public services and employment through a common framework for planning and coordinating routes. After signing the agreement, the delegation members boarded an electric bus and walked around the Taurage circle of honor.
Together with the mayors, the president came to the administration of the municipality of Tauragė. During the closed meetings, the head of state will discuss current affairs of the municipalities with the mayors of the region, meet with the elders of the Tauragė district and discuss the issue of their well-being in the administration meeting room. It is promised that the issues of pensions, services that older people need and their employment will be discussed. In the afternoon, Gitanas Nausėda will visit the Day Center for People with Disabilities and the Tauragė Youth Open Space.
