“We are pleased to announce that the COVID-19 test was negative. Kateryna is feeling better and hopes to perform on the Eurovision stage next week,” the Ukrainian delegation said in a statement.
The Go_A group is famous for modern interpretations of Ukrainian folklore, complemented by the sounds of electronic music. The name of the group consists of the English word “go”, which means to walk, movement, and the letter A, which symbolizes the ancient Greek letter “alpha”, which indicates a return to their cultural roots.
The history of the band began in 2012, when sound producer Taras Shevchenko met performer Kateryna Pavlenko. Today, Go_A is made up of singer Kateryna Pavlenko and musicians Taras Shevchenko, Ihor Didenchuk and Ivan Hryhoriak.
Kateryna devoted most of her life to the study of folklore. She can sing with the so-called “white voice”, a true folk technique, and has a wide range of voices. Taras is a percussionist and keyboardist and sound producer for the band. He works with a variety of musical styles and is able to harmoniously combine completely different sounds, such as the Ukrainian sopilk with Brazilian drums or the reefs of heavy music guitars with drum ‘n bass.
Ihor Didenchuk is a representative of folklore and a unique multi-instrumentalist with a rich musical arsenal of many traditional Ukrainian instruments. Ihor is also a member of the rap group.
Ivan Hryhoriak, the fourth member of Go_A, is a true experimenter with different musical styles and sounds, and also works as a singing teacher.
2016 Go_A became the winner of The Best Track competition for the best Ukrainian song. His work “Vesnianka” conquered Internet platforms and radio stations and made artists abroad famous.
