The incident took place on the Via Baltica road near Passtri. The vehicles collided as an Opel Meriva driver coming from Pasvalys’ side was about to turn onto the gravel road on the left. At that moment, a Volkswagen Golf driver driving in the same direction collided with the rear of his car.
The Opel Meriva, which was hit from the rear, was pushed in front of traffic and obstructed the Opel Vectra, which was heading towards Pasvalys in the opposite lane.

The accident injured an Opel Meriva passenger and a Volkswagen Golf driver. The victims remained conscious, but doctors took them to hospital.
The drivers of all the vehicles were sober. Police officers are clarifying the circumstances of the incident.

Due to the collision, traffic on this section of Via Baltica was interrupted, but the flow of traffic did not stop: one lane of traffic was moving.
