According to the Financial Crimes Investigation Service (FNTT), the charges against two transport companies with their units and their managers in envelopes paid almost half a million euros.
5 individuals and both companies will appear in court following the pre-trial investigation carried out by the iauli FNTT and the Panevis Regional Board, which was headed by the iauli Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the FNTT, the pre-trial investigation began after verifying the information provided in the anonymous complaint that employees of large vehicles can receive a large part of their salary in envelopes.
In the course of the investigation, it was noted that the envelopes were paid for the practice to all the employees of the two companies: accountants, transportation managers, freight forwarders and managers also paid part of the fee informally.
It is estimated that during 2015-2019. Almost 440,000 euros of unaccounted for wages could be paid to all employees. The investigation duties found that said payment system was carried out by several managers in different periods of time. Fixed and electronic collisions between two managers of different companies, in which the so-called forwarding bonuses were calculated according to a certain system, the part of the salary that is not recorded anywhere, is paid in cash.
Although it was officially stated that the employees earn slightly more than the minimum wage, the salaries actually amounted to between 1,700 and 2,000 euros. By paying salaries in envelopes, in order to avoid paying the state, the institutions received incorrect income data. In this way, the state budget could have been defaulted by almost 390,000 EUR.
During the pre-trial investigation, property rights to the company’s assets were temporarily restricted, amounting to almost € 417,000. The civil claims of both companies were presented by the iauli branch of the Board of the State Social Security Fund, and the total amount of the claim was almost 280,000 euros. The total amount of the Iauli County State Tax Inspection exceeds 107,000 euros.
