Vilnius County Police Representative Julia Samorokovskaya told BNS that according to preliminary data, one person was killed in the accident and three more were crushed in different cars. Information was later added that two people died.
According to the police, two of the victims were unconscious.
The Fire and Rescue Department (PAGD) informed BNS that at 10.36 pm Two rescue teams from the capital arrived at the scene.
According to PAGD, rescuers released two crushed women in an Opel Astra, one of them walking and the other in serious condition.
According to information previously provided by the Fire and Rescue Department, the man who was driving the Toyota was killed and the women who were driving the Opel were injured in the accident, but the capital city police corrected the information almost three hours after the incident.
“Two women driving an Opel Astra died in the accident, one born in 1944 and the other to be determined. The event was also attended by a Range Rover car, the driver of which was taken to the hospital with a child for inspection, ”Vilnius County Police Representative Julia Samorokovskaya told BNS.
According to her, a man driving a Toyota Prius taxi and a woman driving a Volvo were also taken to the hospital for inspection.
According to Samorokovskaya, the circumstances of the incident are being clarified and a pre-trial investigation will be launched.
Do not remember the event
As a Toyota Prius driver who works for a Yandex.Taxi hauler told a TV3 reporter, he cannot tell the exact details of the tragic event because he does not remember anything.
It is believed that the carrier may have lost consciousness even before the serious incident occurred.
