“We received information about the accident around 11 pm 50 minutes,” a spokesman for the Podkarpackie Fire Brigade told TVN24, adding that the bus crashed into the road barrier and partially slid down the embankment.
Yaroslav Police Spokesperson Anna Dlugosz Informacyjnej Agencji Radiowej confirmed that the bus had Ukrainian license plates.
The bus went from Poznan to Kherson. There were 54 people on the bus, including two drivers, all Ukrainian citizens on the bus, according to Wiadomosci.gazeta.pl.
The first rescuers arrived at the scene of the accident 9 minutes after receiving the report. Three people died, two people died during the rescue operation.
When the bus was not fastened with the seat belts, when the bus hit the barrier inside it, it began to move by inertia, hitting the details of the bus cabin, the seats and each other. As a result, the people suffered head, spine, and limb injuries.
About a hundred firefighters, paramedics and police participated in the rescue operation.
