Former members of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party (LSDP) forced Gintautas Paluckas to take responsibility for the poor results in the Seimas elections and resign, while at the same time the LLRA-KŠS, in this sense at least, did the opposite.

According to Valdemaras Tomaševskis, the long-time chairman of the LLRA-KŠS, according to Eltai, not only did no one question his leadership party after the defeated Seimas elections, but, on the contrary, the parties “strongly opposed” the issue. of his new presidency.

“The party members opposed (for the vote of the next presidency – ELTA), they said that not even the issue comes up, they fiercely opposed (…) But despite all the anger, I asked for a vote, it was unanimous and He supported me, ”the MEP told Eltai.
He did not hide the fact that the LLRA-KŠS’s own results in the autumn elections do not consider an incentive to consider whether he is still fit to lead a political force organized on the basis of national minorities.

According to him, the fact that the party no longer exceeds 5 percent. barrier and that only three representatives of LLRA-KŠS elected to the Seimas did not necessarily mean the defeat of a political force.
“You know, some say only three, and some say even three. This is a rhetorical question, 10 years ago we only had two MPs, ”said V. Tomaševskis.

He is convinced that this is one of the best performances of the game in general, if we look at it long term.

“As a result, our party had no such questions,” he said.

So V. Tomaševskis, the party council went ahead and decided that LLRA-KŠS performed well, even though it was 5% behind. off the board.

“The writing was such that we did well in the elections, we simply did not cross the barrier,” said the politician.

On the other hand, although V. Tomaševkis positively valued his party’s achievements in the Seimas elections, he did not hide the remaining grievances about the actions organized and directed against the publicist Andrius Tapinas on the eve of the elections. According to the politician, this was not only one of the reasons why his party did not enter the Seimas. According to V. Tomaševkis, the unsatisfied request to invalidate the results of the parliamentary elections due to this action created some uncertainty for the future of the LLRA-KŠS.

“We can work hard and follow the law, spend some finances in the elections, declare everything that needs to be declared, but some actor will come who will spend 300 thousand. copies of newspapers, they will publish videos without the right and we will not even be able to talk about it in court, ”said V. Tomaševskis.

The politician took into account that the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), after receiving the complaint, decided that the large-scale information campaign “Muy bien, Voldemortai” initiated by the public and television presenter A. Tapinas was negative publicity, but not to violate the electoral campaign law. Subsequently, the Constitutional Court refused to examine the petition of the “peasants”, “social workers” and LLRA-KŠS on the question whether the Electoral Law of the Seimas had not been violated during the 2020 Seimas elections. The Constitutional Court He argued that the Seimas did not comply with the maximum term of 72 hours (3 days) established by law to submit said request.
