This year, 82 “100th grade students” were awarded, earning three hundred or more points on the state maturity tests.

During the ceremony, Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis congratulated the graduates on their achievements, wishing them success and encouraging them not to be afraid of challenges and to be themselves.

“Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, but choose the path that is closest to your heart, no matter who says what. You will make a mistake, it is always possible to correct a mistake, change the field of study, but you will never have to regret it in your life, ”said the Prime Minister.

The Minister of Education, Science and Sports Algirdas Monkevičius, congratulating the “centenarians”, invited them to be leaders.

“You are a personality with character. Developing character for the future is key. It is important to have the highest dreams, ambition, perseverance, goals, the will to achieve your goals. Those goals may not always be clear, but the most important goal is the desire to reveal what each of you has, and you have unlimited possibilities. […] You are a miracle. Personalities who can do anything. It is important to be leaders who can constantly advance and be the best in some field. […] We need people like you, ”said the minister.

Promises to study space engineering

Ignas, a graduate of the Vilnius Lyceum who received three hundred exams in Lithuanian language and literature, mathematics and physics, said he expected such results.

“I was expecting math and physics, I wasn’t sure about Lithuanians, but it didn’t surprise me much,” he said.

Ignas rated the maturity test session well and said it was not difficult. The graduate said that he did not intend to study in Lithuania, but abroad: “I will study in Manchester, England, and I would not consider Lithuania, because I chose such a specialty: space engineering, which is not very common in Lithuania.”

Vilius, a graduate of the Šiauliai Lieporių Gymnasium, also received three hundred. Vilius scored the highest on math, computer science, and English tests.

A graduate who planned to study program systems at Vilnius University said that he did not expect a hundred points at the beginning of the school year, but, as he himself says, then he solved various tests, he realized that he could expect such results: “I felt strong after passing those three exams. “

You will study in Lithuania and then abroad.

Greta, a graduate of the Vilnius Gabija Gymnasium, like Ignas, was happy to receive the top three test scores. The graduate collected hundreds of exams of Lithuanian language and literature, history and English.

“I was hoping and I had a real chance of the English exam (hundred – ed. Past.), I was not surprised, but of course I am happy, and I did not expect from history and Lithuanians, I expected good results, but not hundreds,” he said. .

Gabija promises to study political science at Vilnius University. According to herself, she planned to study abroad, but ultimately decided to stay in Vilnius, where, in her opinion, she would get a good foundation in political science.

“I was planning to study abroad, but since I need a loan to study abroad and I don’t know exactly what I want to do, I think I will stay in my hometown Vilnius. While I study political science, I will get a good foundation and then I plan to study in the foreigner ”, shared his future plans.

The quality of studies in Lithuania is unsatisfactory

Benas, a graduate of the Mažeikiai Gabija Gymnasium, scored the highest (one hundred points) on the English, math, computer science and physics tests.

When asked if he expected such results, the graduate said he did not expect them, so, as he said, the results were gratifying: “The most unexpected thing was the physics, perhaps.”

Speaking of preparing for the exams, Ben emphasized that the most important thing is not to stop studying throughout the school year.

“I was preparing for the exams, but I did not go to private tutors, I worked independently,” he added.

Ben plans to study computer science, but, like Ignas, he will do it abroad, because the quality of computer science studies in Lithuania does not satisfy the graduate.

“Although there were special requirements to join overseas, it was easy to join after receiving such results,” said Ben happily.

Seven high school graduates, four nine, and three 66 received five hundred of the state maturity exams.

A total of 2,132 graduates received one hundred points.
