This year, graduates will not have to take the Lithuanian language and literature exam.

Until this year, all graduates had to pass one credit before the mandatory Lithuanian language and literature exam. Without it, the graduate was not allowed to take this exam. Credit was organized in schools in February-April. This year, all graduates will be able to take the Lithuanian Language and Literature Maturity Exam without any credit.

The test will also not be necessary for former students from the previous year, who have submitted applications for this year’s Lithuanian Literature and Language Maturity Exam.

Exempt graduates and alumni do not need to submit an exemption request. Nor do school leaders need to make a separate decision to exempt graduates from this credit.

Decisions about basic education achievement tests and maturity exams (PUPP) will be made before March 1, taking into account epidemiological circumstances and recommendations from healthcare professionals, educators, and education experts.
