“The game route runs through Vilnius’ old town. Players will visit historical sites and discover what connects the Council of Lithuania and Vytautas the Great, which belonged to the “squad” with which Jonas Basanavičius treated the guests. Following the path of the signers, Vilnius will shine a little differently, more historically, more familiar to the players, “says Sandra Larionova, the guide of the House of Signatories.
Games with the Actionbound app are designed to be played by both individual visitors and organized groups of children. Players who earn a certain number of points and better answer all questions will receive gifts that can be collected at the museum box office where they played. The number of prizes is limited.
Audio guide: a journey of 12 thousand years in one hour
The museum presents an audio guide on a mobile phone in the archaeological exhibition (Arsenalo str. 1), adapting to new circumstances and guaranteeing the safety of visitors even after quarantine. All the visitor has to do is scan the QR code, follow the special links and listen to the history by selecting the number next to one or the other display.
“The archaeological exhibition in the museum, which has been operating in the museum for a couple of decades, gained novelty not only because we sound and adapt the latest archaeological information to listen to, but also because we complement the audio guide with photographic and video material on the most important and interesting exhibitions. By listening to the story over the phone, the visitor can immediately explore additional visual material, “says Gabrielė Gudaitienė, Project Manager of the National Museum of Lithuania.
The audio tour starts from the oldest event, when the first people appeared in present-day territory of Lithuania several thousand years ago, after the glacier slipped. The journey ends just before the beginning of the Middle Ages, in the late Iron Age, when the Baltic tribes were formed in Lithuania, on the basis of which the state would soon be built.
G. Gudaitienė, who prepared the texts for the tour, affirms that the visitor will find 41 stops at the archaeological exhibition located on two floors.
