The project will create an integrated IT and infrastructure system and make traffic information services more efficient. Project solutions will increase communication opportunities, quality and performance. It will also increase the safety of road users. L. e. By order of the Minister of Transport and Communications, by order of Jaroslav Narkevičius, EU funds were allocated for this project.

“It is planned to modernize the currently worn and obsolete road weather stations. More modern equipment will allow an accurate assessment of climatic conditions and a timely response to them.

A modern Traffic Information System will also be installed, and the system architecture will be fragmented and adapted to large data flows and different types of data sources, ensuring a convenient and intuitive user environment, adequate speed and management. of data exchange processes with other systems or data sources ”, says Le. Minister J.Narkevičius.

It is planned to install speed measurement systems. According to the methodologies for selecting the locations of the instantaneous and average speed control devices prepared by the Lithuanian Highway Administration and the priority queues formed according to them, the locations of the speed control devices are identified where speed control devices should be installed to improve traffic conditions.

During the project, instantaneous and sectoral speed control measures will be installed in selected sections of the national network, which will not only guarantee the control of the allowed speed, but will also check if there are vehicles with technical inspection and liability insurance in the traffic civil.

The project is scheduled to be completed in 2022. June

The total value of the project is 4,777,449.98 EUR. – 3,821,959.45 euros from the Structural Funds of the European Union (Cohesion Fund).
