Such a proposal from the Ministry of Social Security and Labor (SADM) is presented at the Government meeting on Wednesday, where the revised state budget project for 2021 will be discussed.
The Minister of Social Security and Labor, Monika Navickienė, explained to Delfi that the support will focus on downtime next year, but there will be no further support for employers after the downtime, which was provided for 6 months this year. ; this measure will expire this year.
“SADM’s prerogative is to support those employees who can be retained when they are most needed, that is, during quarantine. And for that, we have mobilized all our resources and put them in a dormancy mechanism that is more favorable for both employees and employers, and that we can save as many jobs as possible and that employees do not have any incentive to register with the Employment Service from your workplace. at the end of the workplace, ”says M. Navickienė.
The ministry also proposes to extend the payment of the job search benefit, but it would be canceled a month later if the quarantine or emergency is lifted.
The amendments to the Employment Law propose that this benefit be limited to residents who worked before the emergency or quarantine and were laid off, as well as if they worked in companies whose activities were restricted.
The job search subsidy would not be awarded to students, vocational school students who have registered with the Employment Service solely to receive this subsidy.
According to the Ministry, in 2021 it would require 230.6 million. 202.2 million euros 170.7 thousand euros for grants. 28.4 million employees released in downtime. 35.5 thousand euros for job search benefits. people.
The calculations are based on a six-month wage subsidy and four-month job search benefits.
To date, the state has paid 70 percent to employers who report downtime and maintain work during it. wage subsidies, but not more than 1.5 times the minimum wage (€ 910.5 before taxes or € 656 “in hand”): this benefit is paid if the employer himself pays 30%. wages; otherwise, this proportion was 90 percent. and 10%, with a maximum grant of a single MMA (€ 607 before taxes or € 437 “in hand”).
In the spring, employers had to keep half the jobs for at least three months after the subsidy was paid. Employers received no allowances that fired employees on their own initiative through no fault of their own or took unpaid leave at the employee’s request.
A subsidy of € 257 was paid to the self-employed who stopped or restricted their activities.
