There are already passengers who could not fly even with a negative COVID-19 test: what mistakes not to make

[ad_1]

It is recalled that when registering and boarding passengers, airlines may, in accordance with national requirements, request a document confirming a negative COVID-19 test result in the specified language. Usually it is sufficient to have a negative coronavirus test in Lithuanian and English, but in some cases passengers may be required to have a certificate in another foreign language issued by the laboratory that performed the test.

States apply different requirements

Passengers should also keep in mind that different countries apply different requirements for COVID-19 testing procedures, such as trial period, test methods or applicable exemptions, Lithuanian airports recall.

Also, more and more countries recognize not only PCR test certificates but also antigen test tests. Therefore, before the flights, passengers should find out what requirements each state applies and, accordingly, provide certificates in the required language, which can be provided by the laboratories conducting the tests, note representatives of Lithuanian airports.

Currently approved direct flight addresses and requirements for passengers arriving and departing from Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga airports can be found in detail in a special polap, by clicking on this link.

Safe travel at airports

During the pandemic, additional security measures are applied at all airports in Lithuania. At Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga airports, only departing passengers who have a flight ticket, reservation confirmation or intention to purchase a ticket within the airport are admitted to the departure terminal. Passengers must wear masks, respirators, or other face protection in the departure terminals at all times.

Passengers receive hand sanitizers at the arrival and departure terminals. Terminal surfaces are disinfected daily and premises are ventilated. Much attention is paid to informing passengers of the need to maintain distances. Preventive actions for COVID-19 are reported through the audio system and video messages are displayed on the terminal screens. Malicious non-compliance with quarantine requirements is also noted, as is the risk of speaking with the police summoned at the airport, and in some cases a fine of several hundred to fifteen hundred euros.

There are a limited number of passenger check-in counters in the airport’s passenger terminals, with check-in counters at different distances from each other. Safety glass protectors are installed at check-in counters as well as at aviation security checkpoints and boarding gates. The use of personal protective equipment is mandatory for all employees and partners.

This week, Lithuanian airports also announced that they are preparing to provide passengers with various types of coronavirus tests before or after travel at airports. A tender has already been announced for the lease of property for coronavirus testing services in leased areas near or within airports.

Detailed information on the additional security measures applied at Lithuanian airports can be found here.
