Last day, 19 deaths from coronavirus were recorded in Lithuania, people aged 30 to 99 died, the Department of Statistics reported on Friday.

One deceased was between 30 and 39 years old, and one person over 40 and another over 50 died of COVID-19. Two more people died in the 60 to 69 age group, mostly seven people older than 70 years and six older than 80 years. One person died over the age of 90.

Most, 10 people die a day in Kaunas county, three in Šiauliai county, two in Marijampolė, one in Klaipėda, Utena, Alytus and Tauragė counties.

According to the Department of Statistics, the majority of deaths so far belonged to the age group 80 to 89 years: 446 of them died and another 320 deaths occurred over 70 years.

The country’s hospitals are treating 2,312 COVID-19 patients, 193 of them in resuscitation, Statistics Lithuania said on Friday.

Oxygen is required for 1,398 patients, artificial lung ventilation: 112.

Currently, 6,983 of the 16,624 beds are occupied in hospitals and 405 of the 681 resuscitation beds are occupied. Of the 635 beds in which artificial lung ventilation can be used, 261 are occupied. 2,339 of the 6,380 beds with oxygen supply are also occupied.
