The young man, born in 2000, came to the attention of the police when he violated the quarantine rules in Kėdainiai on May 5 last year. A protocol was drawn up for him in accordance with article 45 (4) of the Administrative Offenses Code (ANC).
During the conversation with the police, the young man filmed them and later posted the video on the public social network Facebook “Everything in Kėdainiai”.
The video, which was available to many social media users, showed the man behaving in an aggressive and angry manner, using bad language and insulting police officers.
On January 7 of this year, the Kaunas District Court determined that by his actions the man had degraded the honor and dignity of the police officers, and his actions were in compliance with Article 508 of the ANC (degrading honor and the dignity of a statutory public official, military police or intelligence officer).
As the man confessed and regretted the administrative offense, he was fined a minimum of 90 euros, which he would have to pay no later than 40 days. from the date of notification of the judgment.
We remind you that officials who perform their duties in good faith are protected by law and, in principle, attempts to criminally influence officials are responded to. Administrative humiliation is foreseen for degrading the honor and dignity of an official, with fines ranging between 90 and 140 euros.
