Last fall, the Lithuanian Highway Administration installed a speedometer right next to the Riešė Gymnasium. Although residents thought for a long time that the latter was not working, the speed recording device woke up and began to count the KET violators.

On the Bendoriai-Riešė-Kalinas highway, where the hero of our article is installed, the maximum permissible speed is 30 km / h. The speedometer registers even the slightest speeding, p. Eg when the person was driving at 42 km / h. speed.

Community residents are also particularly outraged that they received the fines not immediately, but with a long delay, sometimes even half a year. That is why some neighbors have 15 tickets, 30 tickets and even 50 tickets.

“Indicate the importance on highway no. 5210 Bendoriai – Riešė – Kalinas, 2.35 – 2.38 km. In the stretch from 2016 to 2019, 5 credit events were recorded, during which three pedestrians were injured and two pedestrians were killed. Two pedestrians crashed into a crosswalk (one was killed) near the gym. We draw your attention to the fact that the painful traffic incidents occurred despite the limited speed at the educational institution and its entrances, as well as despite the speed support devices installed, prominent pedestrian crossings, ”says Saulius Jansonas, Communications Manager for International Communications. and Communications Division of the Lithuanian Highway Administration.

The speedometer records a large number of KET violations. From 2020 October 27 to March 28 of this year. 37,430 infractions of road traffic regulations (KET) were registered in the Registry of administrative infractions.

Having had to help residents, the speedometer, on the contrary, caused many problems for many. Residents point out that if they received a fine, it would be paid, disciplined, and would no longer violate the KET. However, you will now have to find funds to pay all fines, and they will need to be paid within a specified time.
