“I think there will be warning strikes on October 21 and 22, and if there is no consensus after a week, we expect a real indefinite strike from the 28th,” he said.

According to him, the warning strikes will take place in the morning, starting from the first planned trip, that is, at 5.30 p.m. until 7.30am to avoid further inconvenience to Vilnius residents during the eastern peak. About a third of buses and trolleybuses will run even now, according to court interpretations that it is a social service and must be provided even during a strike.

Details of the strike will be coordinated with the Vilnius Public Transport Administration.

Voting for union members takes place October 13-15. The legislation states that a strike can be declared with the approval of a quarter of the voters.

The unions require the management of the company to continue with the commitments acquired in the 2018 collective agreement without worsening the “legal and social, economic situation” of employees, addressing the issue of salary increases by one tenth, and the possibility of having lunch.
