Such a measure would complement the set of new restrictions on COVID-19 that will soon come into effect in the country.
They all arrive in the UK from 4pm on Monday. Greenwich Mean Time (6pm Lithuania) will have to quarantine and report a negative COVID-19 test after the government closes the so-called “travel corridors” of countries where the epidemiological situation is better after the emergence of new strains of coronavirus.
According to The Sunday Times, the government plans to further tighten restrictions, requiring all arriving travelers to quarantine hotels on their own and enforcing this requirement using GPS and facial recognition technology. Similar practices already exist in countries such as Australia or New Zealand.

“There are challenges in terms of operation, implementation, but we must evaluate this very carefully, taking into account the experience of other countries,” Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab told BBC television.
“There will be inspections at home, there will be inspections at the border. I think this is the most effective measure we can take at this time,” he emphasized.
“We will certainly consider other possible measures. But they must be effective,” the secretary added.
