The Twelfth Seimas will close its work on Tuesday, there will be no unplanned sessions

On Tuesday, after proposing a special emergency procedure by the president of the Seimas Viktoras Pranckietis and accepting a question from the parliamentarians to the Constitutional Court regarding the complaint of the Polish Lithuanian Electoral Campaign-Union of Christian Families (LLRA-KŠS), the ” peasants “intend to withdraw their signatures.

“There will definitely be no (unscheduled meetings – BNS). Members of the Seimas will withdraw their signatures,” Agnė Širinskienė, chairwoman of the Seimas Law and Order Committee, told BNS on Tuesday.

The Campesinos had collected the signatures of 49 parliamentarians on the convening of two unforeseen plenary sessions of the Seimas on Wednesday to host the LLRA-KŠS complaint about possible violations of the Seimas elections.

According to the Statute of the Seimas, after collecting the signatures of at least 47 parliamentarians, an unscheduled session must be convened.

The term of the parliamentarians of this term will officially end on Friday, when the newly elected Seimas will meet for the first session.

According to the Constitution, the term of the previously elected Seimas members expires from the beginning of the first session.
