The “tripod” records harden the blood: drivers “fly” even in the middle of the city during the day

A novelty that has caused quite a stir among drivers, the horror tripod horror is ending its first year of work in Lithuania. Although chickens are said to be better counted in the fall, the Panevėžys County Police Commissioner (VPK) has yet to count how many drivers have been caught in modern speed traps. However, even without the statistics, it is clear that this measure has paid off.

“We do not track the statistics on how many travelers catch violators. This data travels directly from the device to the registry and the fine is automatically calculated and imposed on the person. Our job is simply to build and prepare the speedometer. And it is not that simple, either, you need to schedule lanes of traffic, weather-friendly lighting, etc. But we can assure you that the tripod did its job – many speed lovers were caught, ”said Tadas Martinaitis, communications specialist at the Panevėžys County Police Commissariat.

According to him, a stationary speedometer loses its efficiency over time, because drivers who know it reduce their speed only in a certain section of the road, but an unpredictable tripod is a very effective preventive measure.

In the street like in a race

However, tripod rapes show that some people get caught in the spotlight of the police, not even the moth. The police record many cases in which the speed of drivers not only on the highway but also in the city itself has stalled blood. And this September, something of a record was set for the year.

In the afternoon, with heavy traffic in Panevėžys, the Mercedes-Benz car flew 152 km / h on Klaipėdos street. at a speed three times higher than allowed.

“After such a violation, the driver will obviously have to say goodbye to the right to drive, and the amount of the fine that will be imposed will be determined by the court,” says T. Martinaitis.

And drivers not rarely exceed the speed limit in Panevėžys more than twice as often. On the road, the police registered a record of violators at 162 km / h. where 70 km / h is allowed. speed. Often times, a driver crossing the city limits is allowed to fly twice as fast as required by the Traffic Rules.

“After fixed leg violations, the fines come to the violators quite quickly. Sometimes you can already have the consequences of running tomorrow, ”says T. Martinaitis.

Monitor the busiest places

However, sometimes even the latest technology is disappointing. When the mobile speedometers began to work on the country’s roads, the police themselves had the information of the police themselves to carefully correct the data recorded by the tripods, since more than one case proved them wrong.

The driver, who was fined, then showed up without driving on the road where the autonomous team of officers operated.

“Technology is technology, anything can happen to it. In doubtful cases, due to tripod violations, there is always the right to petition the police station officials, ”says T. Martinaitis.

According to him, tripod speedometers have a wide range of applications: they can record technical inspections, insurance data by car numbers. Officials determine what to immortalize at any given time.

“We build such measures in the busiest and accident-prone places, where drivers are most likely to violate traffic rules. Tripods run every day throughout the county and we still have enough,” says T. Martinaitis.

According to him, the police are not planning more modern prevention measures on Lithuanian roads.
