The court ruling establishes that there is sufficient evidence in the case to suggest that the suspicion of committing a serious crime has been confirmed. Taking into account that suspect RK may have committed a new criminal offense immediately after the conviction for a similar crime has disappeared, the preventive detention measure was imposed after it was established that the suspect could commit new crimes in general, reports the Kaunas District Court.

The prosecutor also motivated the imposition of a preventive detention measure due to the fact that the suspect, while free and in order to avoid criminal responsibility, can flee (hide) from the officers who carry out the pre-trial investigation, the prosecutor or the court. The court, after evaluating the data collected in the pre-trial investigation material, the circumstances of the commission of the crime and the material that characterizes R. K., did not order preventive detention measures on this basis. The order noted that the suspect’s actions, i. and. Arriving at a police station is considered a perception of the negative consequences of R. K., eliminating the possibility that R. K. may flee or hide from pre-trial investigative officers, the prosecutor, or the court.

The suspect, R. K., was detained for a period of two months, as less favorable detention measures could not guarantee the suspect’s participation in the process, the unimpeded pre-trial investigation, trial, and sentence enforcement.

May 18 A 55-year-old businessman from the capital (known to the police) who drove Vilnius from the seashore in a luxurious Jaguar car was attacked at approximately 1:30 p.m. when a Škoda car collided with him and a VW Passat blocked the road from the front. According to the police, four men who got out of the car took the driver of the Jaguar, hit him very hard, shot him and kidnapped a mobile phone, money, identity documents, a gold watch and a backpack with articles (loss of about 17 thousand 260 euros). Witnesses said the man was kidnapped but was able to resist the attackers. Then the assailants left, and the beaten man arrived in Vilnius and went to the hospital.

A couple of days later, the police reported that two suspected Vilnius residents (also known as police businessmen) had been detained. One of them was arrested for three months and the other was placed in intensive care with an electronic envelope. The latter is Andrius Mickus, friend of the singer Kristina Ivanova, director of the company “Andrikus”. In addition, A. Mickus’ company is also involved in pre-trial investigation into misappropriation of assets, the submission of incorrect data on income, earnings or property, fraudulent accounting, possible abuse by those responsible for management. Vilnius municipality and waste of goods (suspicious transaction between Vilnius municipality and Andrikus purchase of lung ventilators).

The search for the other two participants in the highway robbery was announced. One of them decided to give up: R. K. himself went to the police.
