Although the convict explained that he had shot the lynx through negligence, the courts, after evaluating all the circumstances of the case, recognized that the animal had been shot intentionally, “said prosecutor Vytautas Nacikūnas, who supported the state accusation in court.

According to the case data, a long-term hunter shot down a lynx in LK in early November 2017. These animals are protected in Lithuania. The convict denied intentionally shooting the animal, but did not report the incident to any authority. The coat of a lynx was found during a search on another hunter.
