The anxious mother reported that that same day, around 8 pm the child (born in 2008) left home for school and has not returned until now.

His whereabouts are unknown.

Police say there are dozens of cases of children running away from home.

Although he lives in Kazlų Rūda, he was previously found near Karmėlava airport and even in one of the Vilnius shopping centers.

Police said the boy was questioned just two days ago about the earlier escape.

Dovilė Burbaitė, Chief of the Marijampolė County Children’s Rights Protection Division, told tv3.lt that the family is known to the service specialists:

“This is not the first time the child has left home and his whereabouts are unclear. Due to certain difficulties, the child is assisted and the family is subject to a case management process.

The mother pays due attention to the child, takes care of him responsibly and accepts help. There are four more children in the family. “
