A woman living in Kalotė said that the bus stop on Adam Brako Street was alarming. There are no lights, no crossroads or roller coasters. And the stop itself is almost on the street.
“There is a dangerous bus stop on Adam Brak Street. The stop sign is built almost on the street, children and adults are going towards it, and now when it is getting dark early at night and it is still dark in the morning, it’s impossible to see pedestrians, ”said Lina.
The woman noted that it was extremely dangerous to drive at the speed limit in rain or fog in the morning.
“Every time I go there I have to practically stop to make sure it’s safe. However, not all cars slow down, there are those that drive at the speed limit. There is such a dangerous area that at any moment a child can escape unnoticed and get under the wheels of a car. Why are there delays in taking security measures? Waiting for the first disaster? Lina thought.
The woman also noted that this unsafe bus stop is not the only one. Another worrying stop is Medelyno str. located Kretingalė bus stop.
Gintarė Plungienė, a specialist from the Klaipėda District Municipality’s Public Relations and Cooperation Department, assured that the municipality is aware of information about unsafe bus stops.
In the near future, these issues will be discussed at the District Municipal Traffic Safety Commission.
