“In fact, we are talking about the Kaunas Choir, the Kaunas Philharmonic, the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater. The singing teacher and others associated with him also fell ill. It can be said that the situation is very serious since the number of people in contact has exceeded 100. Megelinskienė.
When asked by reporters what the local quarantine would look like if only a specific site were shut down, an NVSC spokeswoman said the organization had to shut down first, as had been done with the LNOBT.
So far, according to G. Megelinskienė, the circumstances of the infection of the LNOBT leader are not yet clear.
“The first task of epidemiologists is to identify exposed people, if necessary, isolate them, test them for the spread of the disease in society, and then explain what the possible chances of infection may have been. More people may be infected. because, as I mentioned, more than 100 people with contact have been identified, they are at high risk, ”said G. Megelinskienė.
NVSC epidemiologists suspect that the outbreaks at the LNOBT and the Kaunas Philharmonic are related. The suspicions against him are reinforced by the fact that the outbreak occurred suddenly in a professional community where no cases had been reported before.
“So far, it is likely that these two outbreaks, both in Vilnius and Kaunas, are possibly related to each other, but we cannot yet draw specific conclusions and the hypothesis has not yet been fully formed,” said G. Megelinskienė.
He explained the rules of self-isolation.
A representative from the NVSC also explained who needs to be isolated and who can test for coronavirus. According to the NVSC representative, people who have had contact should be isolated, if they have been identified. In this case, they are informed, the isolation rules are explained, and consent to self-isolation is sent.
“It also presents the period of self-isolation, 14 days after the last day of contact. It is also necessary to isolate people who have come from the affected territories, that is, those who have returned from foreign countries,” said G. Megelinskienė.
The specialist also explained that contact persons should monitor the condition. If they experience typical symptoms of upper respiratory infections, they should call the hotline at 1808 and register for the test.
When asked if someone cares about people, how they isolate themselves, G. Megelinskienė replied that care is provided.
“As for the people who have had contact, they are called every day to help the volunteers and ask certain questions. But of course there is also talk of tightening measures, ”said a representative from the NVSC.
According to the NVSC representative, as of Monday, all arrivals to the airport and seaport must complete the form, which is available on the NVSC website. Travelers are advised to fill in their details in advance.
“Every traveler cannot leave without providing their details. Afterwards, travelers should be contacted and asked if they have traveled to the affected area within 14 days, if so, they should isolate themselves,” said G. Megelinskienė.
Delphi remember that 13 new cases of coronavirus were diagnosed on Sunday. A total of 2,265 coronavirus cases were confirmed in Lithuania. 1607 people were recognized as recovered. 81 people died from the disease.
