On Tuesday, parliamentarians approved amendments to three laws drafted by President Gitanas Nausėda: electricity, energy and renewable energy.
“That does not do it radically, but improves the situation for both producer consumers and residents, as well as the builders relocating the old lines,” said Paulius Saudargas, a conservative member of the Environmental Protection Committee, at the Seimas.
100 to 50 percent. There will be a reduction in costs for consumers looking to rebuild or relocate power lines operated by ESO 20 years ago or earlier, which is hampering, say, construction.
The possibility of urgent relocation of lines has also been legalized: a user who so wishes, would carry out the work on their own. However, the connection with the producer consumer will increase (from 20% to 40-50%).
50 percent (instead of 40%) of the costs of connecting to electricity distribution will be covered by new consumers and generators, who will currently cover all costs. The exemption will apply to disadvantaged consumers, who would continue to pay only 20%. connection prices.
If, at the request of the constructor, the networks are to be installed in the infrastructure development area, it must cover 100%. installation costs.
The new price is aimed at ensuring a more efficient development of the distribution network infrastructure in areas where there are no electricity consumers.
The presidency proposed such amendments to the Seimas, as now only a small part of power lines is underground, most cables are laid in cities, and the need for underground cables increases during construction and environmental improvement. According to the presidency, they would guarantee an uninterrupted power supply, for example in bad weather.
In March of this year, when the electricity supply was interrupted due to Hurricane Laura, about 250 thousand consumers.
