The ethics guards sent the prosecutors the request of the president of the Seimas Viktoras Pranckietis about the possible falsification of the document.

The head of parliament was suspicious of the signatures of politicians collected for an unscheduled session of the Seimas, and two members of the Seimas, Rita Tamašunienė and Jaroslav Narkevičius, signed me twice on different sides of the same sheet.

“In the opinion of the president of the Seimas, such behavior of the members of the Seimas, when a possibly falsified document is presented to the Board of the Seimas, discredits the entire Seimas and should be incompatible with the Code of Conduct for State Politicians”, V. Pranckietis said in a statement.

The unannounced session of the Seimas was initiated by the ruling “peasants”. In this session, the request of the Union of Christian Families of Polish Electoral Action of Lithuania to address the Constitutional Court for alleged violations of the electoral procedure had to be considered.

The Seimas session was not held due to lack of signatures from the initiators to hold it.

Agnė Širinskienė, chair of the Seimas Law and Order Committee, explained to journalists that politicians had signed twice by mistake, as several different documents were collected at the same time.
