The Seimas appointed three members of the Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission

103 members of the Seimas voted in favor, two against and five abstained.

At the same time, R. Slapšys was removed from the position of vice-chairman of the commission at the end of his first term as a member of the commission.

The LRTK does not currently have a chief, as the term of former President Mantas Martišius ended in January.

R. Slapšys has been a member of the LRTK since 2017 and has been the Vice-President of the Commission since 2019.

R. Slapšys, who has a pedagogical education, has worked as a journalist for Vilnius Television and was an advisor to various ministers in public relations.

R. Bagdzevičius also previously worked for the LRTK and was also Vice President of the Commission. Since 1996, he has been an actor in the Lithuanian National Drama Theater.

Art critic and public communication specialist A. Zykas is a professor at Vytautas Magnus University, runs the private company Azija LT and is a member of the Liberal Movement.

The Radio and Television Commission is an institution under the Seimas, which regulates and supervises the activities of broadcasters and retransmitters operating in Lithuania.

The commission consists of 11 members: two members are appointed by the president, three members (one from the opposition factions) – by the Seimas on the proposal of the Committee on Culture, three members by the Lithuanian Artists Association, one member by Bishops Conference, a member of the Lithuanian Union of Journalists, a member of the Lithuanian Society of Journalists.

The members of the Commission shall be appointed for a period of four years and may not serve for more than two consecutive terms.
