Leonas Bieliauskas was also convicted of the murder of I. Strazdauskaitė of Plungė, two robberies, destruction of property and illegal imprisonment in 2017, who was sentenced to life imprisonment. He did not appeal to the Supreme Court.
The complaint of A. Stankevičius, a convicted Marijampolė citizen, was also examined for participation in robbery, illegal possession of a firearm and its use. The Kaunas Regional Court sentenced him to two years and two months in prison, which the Court of Appeal increased and added for another two years.
Tomas Zagurskas de Kėdainiai was also sentenced by the Court of Appeal to a final sentence of four years in prison for the latter offenses, but the Supreme Court refused to accept his appeal.
The Court of Appeals sentenced the parents of the murdered girl to 40 thousand. non-pecuniary damage, his sisters – 20 thousand. EUR, and for the ex-fiancee – 15 thousand. euros.
In March 2017, I. Strazdauskaitė left for Vilnius from his parents’ house in Plungė and unexpectedly disappeared. After a few days of intensive searching, his body was found in the Kėdainiai district.
According to the police, the girl was fatally beaten with a shovel.
The motive for the crime became a luxury car driven by a girl. According to the information in the case, the prisoners gathered in an organized group were involved in a traffic accident and when I. Strazdauskaitė got out of the car, she was kidnapped.
