The rulers attacked Nausėda again – DELFI

According to the politician, it is easy for the head of state to comment on the tactics chosen by the rulers when he does not feel or does not feel that he will have full responsibility for the vaccination process.

For his part, Eugenijus Gentvilas, the largest of the Liberal Movement in the Seimas, is convinced that the head of the country lacks coherence in criticizing the Government for the vaccination process. The politician also emphasizes his conviction that before criticizing the measures chosen by the rulers to increase vaccination coverage, the president himself must propose specific solutions to the situation.

R. Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė: It is always easier to find culprits

“I find it quite easy to comment when you do not have or do not feel that you will have full responsibility for the process. Clearly, I understand that everyone’s expectation is that we emerge from a pandemic without confrontation, healthy and safe as a society as a state. But it seems to me that the situation is complicated and sometimes true, and the so-called whip measures are necessary for the public to stumble and listen, ”R. Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė told Eltai.

The largest of the TS-LKD faction regrets that the government had to take stricter measures to increase vaccination coverage. However, politicians point out that the so-called “whip” measures are yielding positive results.

“After some tougher deliberations, some decisions, we see that the public vaccination numbers have increased dramatically. Probably three times. And now I get the first dose of 10,000. people in a day, it’s very hopeful in the sense that we, as a society, can be safer and healthier, ”he said.

Therefore, R. Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė emphasizes that it positively evaluates the activities of the Government. The politician also believes that the criticisms expressed by the president are an attempt to find fault.

“It seems to me that now maybe there is an attempt to find fault somewhere, it is always easier to do it,” said the politician.

He also points out that the president’s talk with those who are hostile to vaccination has not produced, at least so far, clearer results.

“I can’t say that the president has repeatedly asked us to reach 70% as soon as possible. Vaccination coverage. However, as I mentioned, (…) some of his interactions with people who are very active in spreading conspiracy theories in society try to realize a contradiction between science and people who do not trust vaccines or science (…) judging from that, that those people continue to speak the same thing they said, that, apparently, that speech is not working, unfortunately, ”emphasized R. Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė.

While the policy emphasizes that the rate of vaccination in recent weeks is encouraging, it still indicates that the stage in which the incentives may have had a positive effect is over. According to R. Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė, for this reason it is now necessary to apply more stringent measures.

“We all want children to return to school normally, businesses to operate normally, and medical facilities to open. It seems to me that these are sufficient arguments. But if a part of society finds it difficult to listen to these arguments, then we see that part of society seems to be more affected by these stricter measures. I would like it not to be necessary, but we see that it seems to be working, ”said the eldest of the TS-LKD faction.

E. Gentvilas: The president lacks coherence

E. Gentvilas, the largest of the faction of the Liberal Movement in the Seimas, also affirms that the president’s criticism of the government sounded strange to him.

“Initially, the president raised perhaps unfounded expectations of reaching 70 percent by July 6. Then, seeing that this did not happen, he accused the Government and (Minister Arūnas – ELTA) Dulkis of not taking all necessary measures, all necessary to ensure compliance with the schedule devised by the President. Then he saw that the entire European Union had not reached such a vaccination rate, which for some time suppressed his criticism. Now that the Government has taken what I would say are serious measures, and measures that can be criticized or debated here, it is with certain elements of intimidation, it is again bad for the President ”, said E. Gentvilas to Elta.

Therefore, the politician is convinced that the president lacks coherence in criticizing the government for the vaccination process. E. Gentvilas is convinced that before criticizing the rulers, the president himself must propose real measures that can increase the scope of vaccination.

“You know, and I, being in the ruling majority, could say a lot about the negative. But talking only about the negative instead of saying what to do is the lexicon of those street rioters. The president or the politician should also say what there is. what to do, “said E. Gentvilas.

“Radical criticism is possible and necessary when you offer your model, your tools and they are not implemented,” he added.

The president of the Liberal Movement points out that the government has long made it possible for anyone who wants to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Still, the politician notes that some people do everything possible to avoid getting vaccinated.

“We can clearly see that there is a gang of people who do everything possible not to get vaccinated: they go to the doctors, they offer bribes to notify them that they don’t need to be vaccinated. So what can (Minister Arūnas – ELTA) Dulkys do with these people? Especially when the President and the Presidency have expressed some psychological and almost political support to these people, ”emphasized E. Gentvilas.
