Agnė Širinskienė, a member of the Lithuanian Peasants and Greens Union (LVŽS) faction in Parliament, said he thought the situation in Seimas was very difficult for all residents of the country.

According to her, the President of the Seimas cannot guarantee the harmonious work of parliament and makes certain very controversial proposals.

“If you recall, an ozonator was installed, which is suddenly not allowed to be used in the Seimas Chamber. And that could endanger the Seimas members. In conclusion all other things. As you can remember, there was a fact in the media that made the decisions of the board with only one board member, ”explained A. Širinskienė.

According to her, there are also more political errors of V. Prackietis and other things that disorganize the work of the Seimas.

She emphasized that the rulers had no dialogue, communication, or consultation with V. Prackietis.

According to A.Širinskienė, the procedure for the resignation of the President of the Seimas has not yet been discussed in the coalition council.

“We simply understand that the opposition supports the President of Seimas and represents him on a wall.” Because, apparently, it is also very important that the opposition show before the elections that the work of the Seimas is really complicated. It is part of their electoral strategy. So I would really speak very carefully about the changes in the Seimas in this area. Especially those that are not discussed extensively at the coalition level, ”said a representative of the Seimas LVŽS faction.

The opposition supports the President of Seimas and defends him with masonry. Because, apparently, it is also very important that the opposition show before the elections that the work of the Seimas is really complicated.

The removal of the President of the Seimas requires that 71 parliamentarians vote for it. Without the support of the opposition, it would be insufficient for the rulers to remove V.Pranckietis from office.

“If the situation changes and yet the opposition finally starts working and really wants to fix the Seimas’ work, then I think the situation would be different,” said A. Širinskienė.

Two votes

V. Prackietis was delegated to the Presidents of the Seimas at the beginning of the term by “peasants”.

Last year, rulers urged him to resign for several months, as a review of the coalition agreement called for the job to be handed over to “social workers.”

V. Franckietis refused to resign.

Then, in October, 53 Seimas members filed a statement of mistrust with the first vice president of parliament, Rima Baškienė, proposing her dismissal.

At the end of October, two votes were held on the resignation of V. Prackietis.

The first of them collapsed when only 11 parliamentarians attended.

The rulers boycotted him because he planned to hold the vote the next day, and then hope to have the required number of votes in the Seimas.

After voting a second time regarding the dismissal of V. Prackietis from the position of President of the Seimas, he retained his position.

At that time, the votes of the Seimas members were distributed as follows: 63 voted “in favor” of the dismissal of V. Prackietis, 5 – “against”, 11 ballots were damaged.

For the President of the Seimas to be removed, at least 71 parliamentarians had to support him.
