Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis said Tuesday that he would plan to extend the quarantine until the end of June. The prime minister did not comment further on the decision to extend the quarantine half the time.
“Due to the decision of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania,” the head of the government told reporters on Wednesday.
The Cabinet of Ministers will also consider other changes related to the quarantine on Wednesday, to extend the working hours of the cafes and allow sporting events with spectators.
Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis told reporters at the Seimas on Tuesday that the extension of the quarantine will be offered until the end of June.
To control the spread of the coronavirus, quarantine in Lithuania was announced on March 16. It is currently valid until May 31.
