And the people met again
A couple of days before the rally, its organizers recalled once again:
“On June 3, at 6 in the afternoon, on the occasion of the formation day of the Sjūdis, we will gather for a civic rally near the Seimas and remind the authorities of the values of the Sąjūdis, which are being issued by the Current rulers of the Seimas one by one! By the natural family, by national traditional values, by the Constitution! Come, participate, express your civic position! The strength of the nation in unity! “
Prominent people known in Lithuania, members of the Sąjūdis initiative group, renowned historians, public figures, politicians and leaders of the national patriotic forces were also promised to participate and speak at the rally.
“Come, participate, let us defend the values of the Sąjūdis, let us remind the ruling politicians that the state is created by the Nation, that they are representatives of the Nation and must represent and defend the interests of the Nation, not narrow groups!”
His invitation did not go unnoticed, and in the evening near the Seimas, a large group of national-patriotic people gathered at the foot of the Martynas Mažvydas Library (because some politicians have long feared that their voters would draw near).
The organizers, as the organizers promised, were also approached by a large number of eminent people who deserved Lithuania and were at the origins of its independence.
Bronius Genzelis, philosopher, political and public figure and signatory of the March 11 Act, addressed people remotely. One of the founders of the Lithuanian Restructuring Movement, the founder of the Lithuanian Human Rights Association, Professor Antanas Buračas, shared his comments that the country is clearly going in the wrong direction.
Audrius Butkevičius, former Minister of National Defense and signatory of the March 11 Act, delivered speeches live from the stage. Petras Gražulis, a politician imprisoned in Soviet camps for his independence for the independence of Lithuania, shared his memories and experiences. Political scientist, doctor of social sciences, professor did not spare a “good word” to all destroyers of the identity of the nation, Adas Jakubauskas and other prominent personalities were fired from the position of head of the current ruling group for genocide and resistance in Lithuania
In his speeches, it was emphasized that the current government, which has distanced itself from the nation and its fundamental values, is pushing the country to ruin, and it is the duty of society, if the government does not retaliate, to prevent it.
We will come as much as we need
Taking into account that the group of politicians who came to power only listens to the speakers who are suitable for them or themselves, the organizers of the event prepared a written appeal to them.
Describing him, Kristup Krivick joked that he was “smart but strict.”
“Because it was prepared by the Sąjūdis initiative group – educated, decent, cultural, intellectual people, this is how it came out. If the rulers decide not to” hear “the call to return to the nation again, the demands will be repeated from 15 to 17 June. Only after considering that all of Lithuania will meet in Vilnius, the demands can be presented in a simpler way, but even more strictly. ” On the other hand, if we see that the pride of those in power is only growing, and fundamental values continue to be undermined, it is very likely that we will ask them to go away and give in. others, “concluded K. Krivic.
Statement from the rally organizers
To His Excellency Mr. Gitan Nausėda, President of the Republic of Lithuania
Al Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania
For the patriotic parties of the Republic of Lithuania
Commemoration of the establishment of the Sąjūdis initiative group
STATEMENT
* Commemorating the anniversary of the establishment of the initiative group of the Lithuanian Restructuring Movement,
* Remembering the ideals and principles of the Sąjūdis,
* Respond to the challenges, problems and challenges of today
WE REPORT:
* The majority policy of the current ruling coalition is fundamentally at odds with the most important goals of Sąjūdis: freedom of expression, sovereignty of the nation and civil self-government.
* Dual standards for different fields of worldview in the form of laws purportedly against discrimination and prevention of hatred, subdivision of sovereign state powers into supranational institutions, usurpation of citizens by restricting referendum initiatives, abandoning the lowest level of self-government and representatives public in court; win.
* Attacking the foundations of the state: the natural family, the language of the state and national identity through the creation of artificial family surrogates, opening up to global transitions and establishing land reserves for non-native Lithuanian citizens fosters national and civic resistance that is approaching a point where it will be very difficult to return.
WE INVITE:
* The party leaders of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania should initiate a dialogue with the public now, organizing honorable and open debates on the air of the national broadcaster, as well as live in the district centers, on topics relevant to the society.
* Initiate referendums on the establishment of the relationship of the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania with international legal acts, revision of the International Covenant on Migration, decision on the Gender Neutral Association Law, consideration of the Istanbul Convention, facilitation of a real civic referendum initiative.
* Abolish the discriminatory notion of “hate crimes”, the ideological notions of “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” in all Lithuanian legal documents.
* Modify the laws that regulate the activities of the LRT so that the financing of mandatory citizen fees is replaced by a voluntary subscription fee.
* Abandon the ideas of the reservations or ghettos of Lithuanian citizens.
* If the Seimas, however, approves laws contrary to the vital interests of the Nation, we ask His Excellency the President to veto them.
* We invite Lithuanian patriotic parties to join a political organization until the next elections.
