Although before the race, the team stated that it would start with two drivers from the Kaunas district: Lukas Laukaitis and Darius Ardavičius, Kristijonas Pelanis from Panevėžys unexpectedly joined the team.
After strengthening their lineup, the PROflame by IRP team appeared on the track with the new BMW M2. The race-prepared car at the Ringaudai car repair shop was the only one of its kind in the entire Aurum participant line of 1006 km.

According to Lukas Laukaitis, the carefully done task in the preparation stage made it possible to avoid technical problems on the race weekend.
“The training went smoothly, without quirks or other surprises. We were able to focus as much as possible on driving, tuning and testing the car on the 1006 km race track in Aurum. However, this route is unique, formed only on a stretch of road. Many straight and sharp brakes.
At first we saw how the brakes work, how the temperature of the Liqui Moly oil changes in our BMW engine, the transmission. It turned out that everything was fine and the training was successful for us.

I started qualifying. We drove a few laps, then stopped at the well and handed the wheel over to Kristijonas Pelanis.
I managed to achieve similar results: I had 1 min. 18.3 sec., With him 1 min. 18.1 seconds The time may not have been a record, but we drove without risk because we focused on the main race on Saturday, ”said Lukas Laukaitis.

The team started Aurum’s 1006km main race from the 13th position starting. According to the team’s driver Lukas Laukaitis, in addition to an incident with the Noker racing team’s car, during which the rear light of the BMW M2 went out, the PROflame by IRP team suffered no further losses and approached step by step its objective.
“Kristijonas Pelanis was the first to sit behind the wheel. In the first hour there were no surprises, on the second trip I sat down, later also Darius Ardavičius. We set stable wheel break times, we observed the competitors, if they needed to tighten or if we could save the equipment.

I’ll be open: Since we started with the debut car, we take into account the fact that technical nuances can occur. We did not want to overdo it. We simply carried out our plan and drove alongside our classmates mid-race.
In the second half of the race alone, the pace of the opponents slowed down a bit due to one or the other nuance, and we maintained stability and won in our SP4 class, and reached ninth place in the overall standings. Therefore, the goal was achieved, because that is exactly what we were aiming to achieve: to reach the top ten absolutely and win the highest possible position in the class. Incidentally, our BMW M2 was the only car they built in the top ten, because other competitors drove factory equipment. For us, this is the first year with this car, so we appreciate the result.

Thanks to our sponsors and partners, whose support we feel throughout the weekend. The action boiled not only on the track, in the “pits”, but also in the “padock”.
Here, we and the guests of our team were always attended by our partners: “Carnicería de chorizo”, which brought meat products with exceptional flavor. They were baked on-site by our sponsors, PROflame, using their high-end grill equipment.

We also had another gourmet innovation: all the athletes on our team and the guests who visited us received a real source of protein, a product of the UAB Acheta company, grown and dried crickets in Lithuania, “said Lukas Laukaitis.
The team also thanks its other partners and sponsors: LKU kreditų unijų grupė, UAB Ewcon, Transporto elektronika, UAB Specagra, Darius Janušas.
