It did not escape. He was soon found by the police and later caught in court. K. Valionis was found guilty of the traffic accident and fined 2,550 euros. It is true that it was immediately reduced by a third to 1,700 euros.
The sentence includes time spent in detention from 2020 onwards. December 14 6:25 pm until December 15, 2020. – 1 day, which further reduced the fine by 100 EUR. The man is obliged to pay the fine within one year.
That is not the end of K. Valionis’s troubles. Due to the offense, he was banned from sitting behind the wheel for a year and 3 months overall. The man, who pleaded guilty, revealed the details of the incident in court and said he was very sorry.
I drank with a friend
K. Valionis pleaded completely guilty to the crime. He said that in 2020. December 14, he acted recklessly, unjustifiably, with great regret. The man indicated that a friend of Panevėžys had arrived at his home in Kėdainiai district on the mentioned day.
He said that from 1 pm until about 5 pm he had alcohol with him. At around 5 pm he drove his friend to the bus stop, from where he was preparing to return home to Panevėžys. But soon a friend called and said the bus had already left.
So K. Valionis decided to go find him. Near the apartment building, a man tried to turn around in a car, but then obstructed another car. Neighbors called the police.
Upon arrival, the police officers set him 2.85 avg. drunkenness. He said he was arguing in the yard with the wife of the car owner. It happened because she was drunk, she said something to her, but not something bad.
Police were subpoenaed because they refused to complete an incident statement. The policemen weren’t waiting at the scene because the neighbors were yelling at them, yelling, so they decided to leave.
The court man asked to be released from criminal responsibility on bail. K. Valionis asked to recognize as bail a person with whom his friends are three years old, has a positive influence on him and condemned his actions.
The man indicated that he himself is a member of the municipal council as the friend in question, so they communicate a lot not only as friends but as colleagues. K. Valionis promised not to marry a friend. The man misjudged his actions, he regretted. He indicated that he does not abuse alcohol. He added that he has no children, his monthly income is 600 euros.
Everything could have ended differently
The owner of the damaged car also testified in court. He said that on the night of that day, around 5.55 pm, he was approached by a neighbor who told him that another vehicle had crashed into his car.
The victim, dressed in a jacket, ran into the courtyard of the apartment building. As he approached his car, he saw that the driver’s side bumper, spoiler, and headlight were damaged.
He saw another car next to his car, and next to it was a man dressed in a black coat and black pants. Meet the man by sight, it’s K. Valionis.
They agreed to fill out statements, then they pulled the cars. After pulling the cars, she noticed that K. Valionis had started a conflict with her friend, used uncensored words towards her, so she called the police.
When the victim called the Emergency Response Center, K. Valionis left the scene in an unclear direction.
K. Valionis is also the winner of the Kėdainiai Culture Award 2010, the leader of the art and various art groups of the Truskava Cultural Center, and sang in the group “Cousins Aliukai and Sister”.
