Although they did not coordinate the permit with the Vilnius city municipality, organizers of the Family Defense March organized a campaign near the Seimas on Tuesday. Several hundred people gathered here. Some of them wore T-shirts with the inscription “Dictatorship legalized in Lithuania”. Several MPs also used it, some of them went to activists.

The police warned the crowd not to congregate in groups of more than 15 people, otherwise they will be punished. At night, the campaign participants no longer kept their distance.

“Article 494 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. foresees a fine of between 140 and 600 euros for such actions ”, says the press release.

It also says that the process was started because the participants did not comply with the requirements set forth in the Meetings Law, which establishes that a group of more than 15 people must obtain a municipal permit.

During the day, officials warned campaign organizers and participants to meet the established requirements, but at the end of the day, officials found that those requirements were not met.
