The weekend was busy for environmentalists. Officials of the Kaunas Wildlife Protection Inspectorate of the Department of Environmental Protection received information about illegal hunting in the hunting area unit of the hunting club “Kruonis” in the Kaišiadorys district. The offender was captured with two illegally hunted male deer, for which he faces criminal responsibility and the estimated damage to nature amounts to more than 12 thousand. euros.
“We are happy to cooperate with real hunters who meet the established requirements and do not tolerate the illegal activities of our colleagues,” says Darius Jurevičius, head of the Kaunas Wildlife Protection Inspectorate.
During the investigation and cooperation with the hunters of the hunting club “Kruonis”, the officers revealed that one of the companions of the hunting club was hunting illegally.
Environmentalists have found two illegally hunted male red deer at a hunting decoy site.
After the hunt, the offender was not afraid to apply to a colleague of the hunting club with a request to register him in the hunting register, as well as illegally hunted animals.
However, he was unable to escape the rape. That same night, a pre-trial investigation was launched against the person in accordance with article 272 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania. 1 d. The offender faces a fine, arrest or prison of up to two years. The offender will also have to pay damages to nature: 12,269.40 EUR.
