“No one from Kėdainiai has registered to participate in this year’s Kaziukas virtual fair. Last year and last year, we had about fourteen teachers from the Kėdainiai region at the Vilnius Kaziukas Fair. According to him, this platform, which will be launched as an electronic marketplace this year, was used in previous years as a merchant registry for the Kaziukas fair in Vilnius, where artisans could buy places themselves.
“The virtual reality that we have been living in for years has not yet been acceptable to people. It is difficult for them to accept the fact that it will probably be that new reality, a new reality. They still believe that everything will pass and that we can go back to the old days.
On the other hand, feeling fears that will be too complicated, they may lack some knowledge, skills and, in general, too much annoyance. If we talk about elderly people, we will understand them perfectly ”, said R. Gražys about the mood of the participants of the virtual fair.

Connect generations
The platform boss himself agrees that there are also a number of concerns about e-commerce.
“We already have registered more than two hundred creators, artisans, authors who have presented more than three thousand works. Of course, everyone will be responsible for shipping the goods, delivered to the customer. We are like a bridge, an intermediary that unites everyone and unites them, a supplier with a vendor ”, said the interlocutor.
According to R. Gražis, the creators of the big cities expressed their desire to participate in the virtual Kaziukas fair.
“There are Kaunas, Klaipėda, Vilnius, Šiauliai, Panevėžys, Kaišiadorys, etc. However, I would be more inclined to name them not by cities, but by age. Probably, I asked for it among the younger developers, because it is no longer new for them, they trade more online, not everything is so complicated, unknown and scary, “said the man.
Still, the platform director says he is pleasantly surprised at how the idea of moving the Kaziukas Fair into a virtual space connects generations.
“Yes, there is only one other merchant, but the wonderful thing is that we receive calls from children and grandchildren with questions about whether it would be possible to help our mother, father and grandmother to” set up “that store, place goods and soon. In this case, no However, the aspect that moved me the most was that between families, relatives, there is a kind of communion in this difficult situation, values related to the family, with the help of others. Lithuanian name will work too
Anyone who wants to open a store, bringing their products to the platform, according to R. Gražis, is free. The only applicable commission is on the product sold. After considering whether the Kaziukas fair in virtual space is not cheaper than in physical space, the platform manager said:

Also, not only do you have to pay for the place, but if you come from other regions, you have to look for accommodation, you have to pay for it and transportation as well. According to the interlocutor, the platform is not just a short-term project that will take place on the weekend of the Kaziukas fair or another week later.

When asked if it would not have been easier if a more memorable and Lithuanian Internet address had been chosen for the fair, the head of the platform said: “The name will be double. Just thinking about the future and future prospects, knowing how the works of our authors and creators are really valued abroad, our aim was to present the best works of Lithuanian creators to the foreign market. “I’m not a friend” of technology
When the director of the Krakiai Community Center, Daiva Dubinkienė, asked if any of the city’s creators and artisans intended to participate in the virtual Kaziukas fair, she said she found out only when she became interested in “Market Square.”
“I myself found out about the organized Kaziukas fair when you asked me. I have not heard anyone from our country participate in it, I do not have such data. And furthermore, we do not have very strong craftsmen, if there are any, it is difficult to communicate with information technologies, so it would be difficult to register, cause work, send them to customers.

There will be no fair spirit

Second, it requires a lot of extra preparation and investment – it takes a lot of time and money to make beautiful photos and product descriptions, the developer explained. – Also, my situation is a little different: I am working and the trade is just an additional occupation. I also trade on an online platform, I don’t need to produce a lot of products, which is very relevant when I attend trade shows. However, if the newly created platform survives, I will be happy to join in the future. “
Still, I. Skučė believes that a virtual fair may be possible, but, in his opinion, only partially.
“It will only be online purchases, but there will be no spirit of the Kaziukas fair,” lamented the craftsman.
