The “peasant” Arvydas Nekrošius noted that P. Saudargas, who is being proposed to the vice-presidents of the Seimas, represents the Christian wing of the party and was delighted by this. When asked what job he would do first if he took office, Saudargas replied that he would focus on COVID-19, as well as budget adjustments.

Tomas Vytautas Raskevičius, a member of the Freedom Party, noted that P. Saudargas and other parliamentarians once registered a bill intended to prohibit gender reassignment.

In response, P. Saudargas stated that he would not compromise with his conscience, but that he would also take into account the opinions of other politicians.

According to the statute, when presiding over the sessions of the Seimas, the presidency cannot influence the content, agitate, it is simply a moderator. I don’t think there is any problem here, “said S. Sargargas.

Domas Griškevičius, a member of the mixed group of members of the Seimas, asked how the candidate would behave if the Seimas resolved the issue of same-sex couples and their vote was decisive.
