The action took place on Monday around 2 pm at the intersection of Gediminas Avenue and Vilniaus streets. A Vilnius resident hiding under the roof from the rain noticed a man lying on the ground nearby.
“I did not see that person, only my legs and feet, because the advertising cylinder was blocked. I would have called the ambulance, but I already saw an old man look at that man and say something on the phone; I was clear that he was already talking to the ambulance, ”said the woman.
According to Lily, at that moment it spilled from a bucket: “The girl was young and had an umbrella over the man who was lying on top of her.”
An empty bottle of champagne had fallen next to the man who had fallen on the tiles. Lily wondered, “I haven’t heard anyone get drunk, poison with champagne.”
Therefore, you tend to think that a person has not been harmed by alcohol consumption.
“I don’t know if that bottle of champagne was here because it was lying a few feet away,” he added.
The man was wearing shorts, a short-sleeved T-shirt, and shoes without socks.
“He wore barefoot shoes, but now people wear them that way,” Vilnius said.
The liar man, according to the witness, was about 35 years old. The highway could have come closer, but it stopped thirty feet away, Lily shared.
Did the medical actions hurt the person even more?
According to the witness, the towed man pushed the paramedics by his hands twice.
“The man comes quickly, he does not want to take that person too lightly. Take him by the hand and pull him over that pavement. And his shoes fell off, then his legs began to slide naked on the pavement,” he recalled with horror.
“Every time he fell, he hit his head on the pavement,” added Lily.
During the stretch, one of the medical staff picked up and threw the shoes from the man’s feet into the car, Lily said.
“I got to the car then, I couldn’t take it anymore. I see it’s lying on the ground. There’s a sofa next to it, covered with cellophane, blue. It’s empty,” said the woman. According to her, the paramedics did not bother to place the person in a place intended for patients, they left him on the floor of the car cabin.
Lily indignantly asked the paramedics why they were dragging the man like a bag. The only response he received from the paramedics was an excuse that there were insufficient funds.
The woman was still trying to get the ambulance staff to fit in: “There is no reason for you to say that there is no reason to be inhuman. So they closed the door in front of me and left. “
The woman considered the impact that this paramedical treatment of a powerless citizen has on society.
“They show that you can do whatever you want with such a liar drunk person. It can hurt you, you can hit your head against the granite several times. And also professional doctors. They are people who are paid to help, ”the woman was terrified.
According to her, this behavior represented a serious risk to a person’s life: “If his spine was damaged, they could have killed him.”
“I cannot call them doctors, but butchers or garbage collection specialists,” the woman summed up.

An internal investigation into the incident was launched.
As Aleksandras Naujūnas, deputy director of the Vilnius Ambulance Station (VGMPS) told tv3.lt, the institution intends to take the incident seriously.
As soon as they received the video material from the tv3.lt portal, the VGMPS administration launched an investigation, during which the paramedics who came to the call will have to explain their behavior.
“If the circumstances show that everything was done as we see it, then that assessment could not be positive. In fact, the actions are carried out initially and are in charge of being investigated,” said A. Naujūnas.
Before applying to the tv3.lt portal, VGMPS did not have information on improper actions by employees.
All the circumstances will be clarified during the investigation, and so far A. Naujūnas has not been able to tell more about the event:
“That primary material, the original video, clearly presupposes such an initial negative attitude in general towards the actions of the doctors, the institution itself, etc. Definitely I could not comment in more detail now simply because explanations must be received from the employees, (…) the conclusions of the investigation have been received ”, added the deputy director of VGMPS.
When asked how doctors should treat an unconscious person in general, A. Naujūnas replied: “Of course, each situation must be evaluated individually. However, the physician must assess the patient being cared for, their state of consciousness, the nature of the possible injuries, and what they are. When stretchers are used, when they cannot be used. “
He thanked the information provided, since the administration of the institution has the opportunity to react, to take the necessary measures.
“Initial information may not be acceptable as positive, but receipt of such information allows the institution to make decisions that will help improve the institution’s performance,” concluded the VGMPS representative.

And Lily doesn’t face his nonchalant behavior for the first time. He recalled that three years ago a similar incident took place on the Lithuanian coast of Palanga.
A drunken man lay in the street and Lily did her civic duty: she reported to the ambulance. But to the woman’s surprise, the paramedics expressed their reluctance to go to the scene. I called and the ambulance did not want to travel. They argued that they did not have enough cars.
“He tells me, shake it there, shake it. (…) I say: I’m not a doctor, I don’t know if he was poisoned by alcohol, or maybe something else for him, maybe a heart attack. I’ll tremble, I can hurt, “Lily recalled.
According to her, only the duty of doctors is to determine the cause of the patient’s poor condition.
The woman wondered how the responding staff wouldn’t want to go to the scene: “There has to be some order. Invite and ride. It is not a choice to go to this one, but not to this one. “
After all, it is possible to poison any food, not just alcohol, the woman considered.
“And if you were poisoned by mushrooms, how then? Poisoned with alcohol – I will not drive, and if there are fungi – will I drive? There is such a wrong double standard, ”he said.
