Some of the paintings are donated by the industrialist to the Museum of the Palace of the Rulers to enrich the collections of Lithuanian national art and culture, while others are given for storage and permanent display for twenty years or more.
“In the history of the Museum of the Palace of the Rulers and in all of Lithuanian museology, it is a very rare gesture and a very followable example, perhaps comparable to the initiative of Mykolas Žilinskas, when the museum has the opportunity to decorate its spaces with one or more but a whole gallery of valuable paintings.
It is also gratifying that the works exhibited at the international exhibition that have become hostages to the pandemic are returning to Lithuania; it is a sign that in this period of stagnation, culture and art are not left to fate, and we hope for all that normal life will return soon.
It is also very important to emphasize that the honorable industrialist and patron, but a truly modest man, dr. Thanks to P. Kiznis, the unique values of ancient European art return to Lithuania, which have been destroyed and looted by various passers-by who have destroyed the land of Lithuania for many centuries. In this way, we recover the lost signs of Lithuania’s Europeanity, Lithuania’s belonging to the space of European Latin and Christian civilization, and substantially enrich the museum’s exhibition and national collections.
Many thanks to the esteemed patron dr. P. Kiznis for the perception of the importance of such a cultural step, for his patriotism and citizenship, attested by a specific noble step of true patronage. Thanks also to dr. To the relatives of P. Kiznis who supported this initiative, as well as to collector friends Edmundas Armoška and Vilnius Kavaliauskas, who facilitated the decision of the patron, ”said the director of the Palace House Museum, dr. V. Dolinskas.
“That cultural spark, an inspiration in me, has fallen from nature. And why do you live? Although I grew up in a ruthless environment and in harsh conditions, I kept thinking about what could be done, what would remain for a long time, to serve the people and the memory of those who came to me.
Such things give me spiritual satisfaction and energy, ”said patron dr. P. Kiznis emphasized that the support of the family was important to him, as well as the fact that the biblical works, the images of Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary and the saints, of great value and impressive, in the gallery will not fall into funds of the Palace Museum, and it will be constantly displayed to all museum visitors: Lithuanian residents, students, youth, foreign tourists.

Important portraits in the history of Lithuania are remembered with the portrait of Pope Leo X created by Jacopino del Conte (1515-1598), which creatively reproduces the work of Raffaello Sanzio (1483-1520). It was this Pope, who had personally communicated with the Bishop of Vilnius Albert Radvila, who initiated the process of proclaiming King Kazimieras Jogailaitis as a saint.
Other paintings were created in the 15th-17th centuries. From now on, it will be possible to admire a historical gallery of impressive paintings in Vilnius, in the restored palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania ”, said D. Mitrulevičiūtė.
