When the public has many doubts about the principles for applying for the Opportunity Passport, the Ministry of Economy and Innovation informs that the technical work for the creation of the Opportunity Passport is currently being completed. Before its launch (May 24), all the details of how this decision will work will be presented to the public.

Two separate web pages are created for the Opportunity Passport in Lithuanian and English. One of them is for residents who want to obtain an Opportunity Passport, and the other for people who will check the validity and originality of this document. The addresses of both websites will be published prior to the start of the opportunity passport.

To obtain a passport for opportunities, it will be necessary to enter personal identification data on the website through the e-government gateway and save the QR code provided on the phone or computer. No additional proof of extracts will be required: this code, which is the Opportunity Passport, will be on the smart device, it will also be possible to save it in pdf format or print it.

Residents who do not have technical access to electronic authentication tools will be able to obtain the Opportunities Passport for free in the customer service units of the Registration Center by presenting an identity document. There are 50 such subdivisions in Lithuania, the list of which can be found here.

You will not need any special equipment to verify the passport; the code it contains can be scanned by phone or tablet. After scanning the received QR code, the inspector will see a green or red color on the screen (if the Opportunity Passport is valid, green, if not, red). If necessary, the identity of a person can be verified if an identity document is requested. The opportunity passport will contain minimally sensitive data, only those that are necessary to identify a person: name, surname and date of birth.

Lithuanian residents will be able to start using the Passport of Opportunities on May 24. It will allow businesses to deviate more freely and people to use services more widely. The passport will be available for three groups of people who have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, who are infected with COVID-19 or who have tested negative for COVID-19. This document will provide more security for both service providers and customers; everyone will be sure that people gathered in a room are not at risk of infection.
