In September, as the townspeople return to work and education, more and more people will appear who have not taken care of their travel in advance. It is also difficult to orient guests arriving in town. They usually hope to pay for the trip by purchasing a transportation ticket. The COVID-19 pandemic caused passenger discontent with the suspension of single transportation tickets.
“Understanding this need and evaluating the situation, we installed plastic and glass walls in the driver’s cabins, separating them from the passenger flow, we are ready to sell tickets safely. Access for returning passengers through the front door will provide more efficient ventilation in bus and trolley cabins and more room for passengers.
However, it is important to remember that tickets must be booked in advance, that protective masks must be worn on public transport, and that a safe distance must be maintained. Then, after going through the front door and marking the ticket, passengers must go further into the cabin, ”explained Karolis Dekeris, Marketing Director for Kauno Autobusai, in a press release.
More effective passenger control
There’s also a first for passengers: controllers will be able to block ticketing in advance, so the so-called “bunnies” should be particularly pathetic here, and the changes simply won’t be felt by honest ticket issuers.
From now on, controllers will use new devices in their work, which will block ticket marking in the “Grasshopper” application. Special devices make it possible to identify all vehicles arriving at the station in the near future and block ticket markings in advance.
“We hope that the normal boarding procedure, the sale of tickets, as well as a better ventilated public transport cabin and more precise control of passengers will contribute to the comfort of citizens’ travel and more and more people will return to the habit of use public transportation in the city, “Decker said.
