Having worked for the Rural Affairs Committee for three and a half terms (certainly more than usual), I go further: the mandate of the Economic Committee covers the entire economy, its rational management and innovation, supervising many areas from energy, industry, services to information and communication technologies.
Nowhere will I get away from the problems of the countryside, because agriculture is one of the branches of the economy, very important and has great potential. I will use the accumulated experience in new positions, I will maintain contacts with farmers, their organizations and rural communities. I will pay special attention to reducing the gap between urban and rural areas, because this problem is a threat to the state, social cohesion, ”writes K. Starkevičius on Facebook.
Another candidate, who was also named a royal candidate, Viktoras Pranckietis, officially begins work on the Rural Affairs Commission of the Seimas.
