Asta Lesauskienė, director of the Department of Human Welfare and Education of the Municipal Administration of the city of Šiauliai, says that the Resurrection Square and the adjacent square have really shone this year.

We chose angels for the decoration of the Resurrection Square and the main fir tree. It is not a coincidence that it was chosen this important symbol: we wanted the fir tree to spread peace and cause inner joy and, after all, angels better symbolize light and hope ”, says A. Lesauskienė.

This year’s fir tree is traditional, its decoration has been attended by the Šiauliai Cultural Center for the third consecutive year. The Christmas tree is decorated with a 1,400-meter garland of LED bulbs, 600 bubbles of various sizes and colors, and more than 200 decorative toys. Saturated with angels, snowflakes, stars, puppies and other cute decorations, assorted in various colors, the main Christmas tree in Šiauliai will spread comfort and evoke warm memories until January 15.

Although this year’s fir is similar to last year’s, Deimantė Bačiulė, director of the Šiauliai Cultural Center, says that maintaining the same decorating style creates a sense of tradition and home comfort in the city. “After all, fir toys are not changed at home every year, and we usually try to create warmth in the home while preserving important traditions. Sometimes things that are simple and pleasant for the heart evoke the purest emotions. and beautiful. The spruce received great admiration from people last year, and online voting also voted for the same spruce for several years. So this year is similar, but there is also an unexpected surprise for residents from Šiauliai: the colors of the fir decorations will change, so we are sure that everyone will discover their favorite color, ”says D. The people of Šiauliai can also admire the square near the Resurrection Square, where the view feasts on the traditional prehistory, which represents the biblical event – the birth of Jesus Christ. It currently houses plaster statues of Mary, Joseph, shepherds and sheep, and will later be complemented by a statue of Jesus Christ himself.
